Atomic Moo 3D Glasses

Atomic-Moo-3D-Glasses

This is something I put together last night for Atomic Moo. It’s a printable pair of 3D glasses visitors to the site can download and put together themselves. I’m hoping to do more 3D projects for the site. I even put together a 3D version of this print (below).  This one is 11″ x 17″; I still need to make an 8.5″ x 11″ print available.

"Abilities" Back

These are a series of shirt concepts I uploaded to my Zazzle store to help promote my blog, Atomicmoo.com. If you know anything about Dungeons & Dragons, or any other RPG, then you’ll know what all that means. My idea for these though was to take the ability scores and apply them to geeks in real life. So like for the Charisma score, if they take a shower (which if you ever been to comic book convention you have to wonder if they ever do) they get a bonus modifier. I came up with idea after sitting in on a game of Dungeons & Dragons a couple weeks ago. I haven’t played the game since I was 14, and I had a hard time remembering a lot of the rules. Still, I managed.

Atomic Moo Shirt Design

Zombies&Lemons

I thought a good way to begin working tonight on this site would be to start with a post of my most recent project. This was a t-shirt concept I worked up for a blog I run, AtomicMoo.com. The idea came from a series of comments on one of my posts. I thought I’d run with it and see what happens. I think the part I liked best on this was working on the type. The font I used as a guide was Sans Serif Extra Bold Condensed. I then took some brushes I made and built the letter forms with their shapes. The zombies were also pretty fun to draw. I used some stock photos I found on DeviantArt.com as model references, and drew them up in my sketch book and tried to play with the poses and stylization a bit. To save time, I just left them as silhouettes.

After it was completed, I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I wish I had the money to have these screen printed, but I don’t. So I decided to try Zazzle.com. I still have to work on setting up the store, but here’s a link to what I have so far. I’m not sure about the whole digital print on demand stuff; I’m not sure about the quality. I did order a print of the shirt to see what it would look like, but it’ll be a few days until I get it. That also brought up another issue: the price. For a digital print on an American Apparel shirt, where I did all the design work, I feel they’re charging way too much. I need to see what I can do to bring that down, or maybe find something else.

Here’s some images of what it should look like on a shirt. Here’s hoping it turns out alright.
